Envision Science Academy is governed by a non-profit board of directors comprised of dedicated individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets. The strategic recruitment of the board members is critically important as each person brings his/her own personal and professional experiences, expertise, perspectives and contacts. Envision's board reflects the diversity of the communities served which strengthens our position to execute the school's mission and confidently face opportunities and challenges. Mrs. Taylor became a member of the Envision Science Academy Board of Directors in July 2022. Mrs. Taylor is a professional community association manager (PCAM) and has worked in that industry for nearly 20 years. She has experience in community development and managing operations, facilities, budgets, and compliance.
Mrs. Taylor has always participated in some form of community service and support of nonprofits - both in her professional and personal activities. She and her family regularly share in volunteer work. Mrs. Taylor has also served on other charter school boards, helping to lead the school through the process of multi-million dollar bond funding and planning for a new facility.

Ryan Cotterman, Vice-President & Interim Treasurer
Mr. Cotterman became a member of the Envision Science Academy Board of Directors in December 2015. He served as the Treasurer of the Board through fiscal year 2019 and as president of the Board from 2019 through the 2024 school year.
Since February 2023, Mr. Cotterman is currently serving as the Vice President, Corporate Controller for Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc., the largest manufacturer of exterior building products in North America by sales and serve residential and commercial customers across both the new construction and repair and remodel markets. Previously, Mr. Cotterman spent 5 years at Advance Auto Parts, Inc., a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider that serves both professional installer and do-it-yourself customers. Mr. Cotterman has over 19 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting and auditing as a result of his current position and previous senior manager position with Ernst & Young, LLP, a public accounting firm.
Mr. Cotterman has had extensive financial, corporate management and governance experience, which assists the Board in maintaining the financial health of the Envision Science Academy and in implementing future strategic initiatives. Additionally, his experience on the Board, and with the school, aids in ensuring that the mission and vision of Envision Science Academy are being executed.

Mrs. Mallory became a member of the Envision Science Academy Board of Directors in June of 2019. Mrs. Mallory became Chair for the Envision Business Advisory Committee in January of 2021. Mrs. Mallory has been Director, Business Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific for the past 6 years. She has held other commercial roles within Thermo Fisher Scientific over the past 17 years. Thermo Fisher Scientific is the world leader in serving science, with revenues of more than $30 billion and approximately 130,000 employees globally. Mrs. Mallory has over 25 years of experience with a history of increasing revenues, profitability, productivity and overall customer satisfaction in the Biopharmaceutical industry.
Mrs. Mallory is actively involved in community outreach through the African Heritage Employee Resource Group as the Global Lead for community outreach at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Her years of experience working with Envision Science Academy to provide STEM support and resources has led to her increased participation to serve on the Board of Directors. Mrs. Mallory serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Bethany Christian Church in Wake Forest. Mrs. Mallory serves as the Chair for the Envision Business Advisory Committee. Mrs. Mallory is the mother of 4 young adult children and has been married to Jimmy Mallory, an elementary educator in the Wake County Public School System for over 27 years.

Gregory S. Davis, Esq. is a native of New York and is a graduate of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. He also holds an undergraduate degree
in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Bowie State University.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Greg was a Trust officer for one of the largest U.S. Banks, an adjunct professor of finance at Meredith College and a Series 7 licensed financial advisor.
Greg is currently the owner of The Law Office of Gregory S. Davis, PLLC (gsdavislaw.com), which focuses on Estate Planning, Business Law, and Real Estate. He is also an adjunct professor of Business Law at Wake Tech, and a provider of pro bono attorney services at the Marian Cheek Jackson Center in Chapel Hill. Greg has a great interest in financial literacy and has self-published “4 Pillars to Stand
on Before Investing” and “ABCs of Money for Girls and Boys.”
Greg enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities including soccer coaching and building furniture.

Ms. Lammers joined the Envision Science Academy Board of Directors in June 2024 and was appointed Chair of the Business Advisory Committee in August of the same year. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Philanthropy, Leadership Giving, for the College of Engineering at NC State University, where she has worked for the past two years. In this role, Ms. Lammers collaborates with philanthropists in the engineering sector to secure funding for scholarships, fellowships, professorships, department enhancements, and student programs. Her efforts support NC State University's continued growth as a leading Research I institution, particularly through the Engineering North Carolina's Future expansion project.
Before joining NC State, Ms. Lammers spent five years with Ruffalo Noel Levitz, a non-profit specializing in higher education fundraising. She managed engagement centers for universities within the University of Texas system, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Rice University.
In addition to her professional role, Ms. Lammers is actively involved in community outreach. She serves as a staff liaison on the Young Alumni Board for the College of Engineering at NC State and volunteers at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Mrs. Swarthout became a member of the Envision
Science Academy Board of Directors in April of 2024.
Mrs. Swarthout is the Senior Global Human Resources
Director for Loparex, LLC, and has worked in the
industry for over 15 years. She has experience in all
aspects of HR, with a focus on talent acquisition and
development, program management, total rewards, and
DEIB. She also has experience in sales, continuous
process improvement, event planning, and customer
service.
She is involved in several local and national community
service organizations and has recently been inducted
into Leadership Triangle’s Goodmon Fellowship.
She looks forward to helping Envision Science Academy
implement future strategic initiatives.

Missy Welch has been a licensed attorney since 2005 and worked in the public service for most of her legal career. In 2015, Missy joined the NC ABC Commission as Assistant Counsel where she prosecuted alcohol related offenses. She was promoted to Assistant Deputy Director for the Commission in 2020. Missy became the Director of Programming in 2021 and currently oversees the Permits, Audit, and Products Sections. She attributes her accomplishments to the education received at NC Central University and NC Central School of Law.

Ms. Cutno co-founded Envision Science Academy in December 2012. She served as the President of the Board since its inception through fiscal year 2019. Ms. Cutno currently serves as chair emeritus for Envision Science Academy.
Currently, Ms. Cutno is a Director at PNC Capital Markets, where she focuses on providing long-term bond financing for charter school facilities in multiple states. Prior to PNC, Ms. Cutno worked with the Truist Securities charter school finance group for three years.
Ms. Cutno has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, management, finance and consulting across various industries. She is active with several community non-profit organizations. Ms. Cutno serves as the Vice Chair of the NC Association for Public Charter Schools and is a founding board member of NC Women in Public Finance.
