Lunch

Students eating lunch

Parents/guardians are asked to provide a nutritious lunch, snack (optional), and drink for their child(ren). Microwaves will be available for heating food. Please bring food that only needs to be heated for 90 seconds or less.

Although Envision Science Academy is not a peanut free zone, peanut free areas will be designated during lunch for students with peanut or other allergies.

Parents at Lunch

If you would like to come have lunch with your child(ren) follow the procedures below.

  • If you plan to eat lunch with your child, please communicate your request to your child's teacher(s), either via phone or email.  All student lunch requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.  Same-day requests may not be accepted due to spacing and other circumstances.  Please adhere to the 24-hour prior notice.
  • Once at the school, ALL visitors must stop in at the front office and receive a visitor badge.
  • If you have more than one child enrolled at ESA and want to eat with all of them, we ask that you visit each of their designated lunch periods so they do not miss class time.
  • Anyone who joins their child for lunch must be aware of and adhere to all dining hall expectations and procedures (ex. 10-minute chew time, vending machines, etc.).  If you have any questions, please ask the admin on duty or one of the assigned lunch monitors.
  • Parents/caregivers may eat lunch with their child only.  Additionally, if you bring outside lunch into the dining hall, you may only provide lunch for your child.  Parents and their children are not allowed to invite other students to sit with them.
  • Due to limited space, visitors who are eating with their child will eat at either the peanut-free table (if no other students are eating there) or use our back patio tables, unless weather requires otherwise.  Parents are not to sit with their child at the lunch table with other students.

Free and Reduced Lunch

Some students may qualify for free or reduced lunch if the household’s gross income is within the free or reduced price limits on the Federal Eligibility Income Chart. Income verification will be required. Students may also be eligible if the household receives benefits from WIC, Food and Nutrition Services (formerly known as The Food Stamp Program), the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, or TANF/Work First. Parents/guardians can find the form to apply HERE.
