School Nurse
Envision Science Academy is blessed to have a full-time school nurse 100% dedicated to ESA. Many schools do not have this luxury and we do not take it for granted. We are happy to brag about Nurse Merritt any time the opportunity arises (check out an article WRAL ran featuring her and her impact). Nurse Merritt does much for our school community such as:
- working with parents and students to develop, evaluate, and revise Emergency Action Plans for chronic medical conditions like allergies, asthma, diabetes, and individual medical plans
- assessment of individual health needs
- assessment and treatment of emergencies and injuries
- medication administration for students and training of school staff
- health screenings like vision and hearing as needed and specific grade levels
- staff medical training yearly and as needed
